Myrtle Beach’s Best

A Grand Strand directory for visitors, with local business listings, area guides, and search by interest or location. Businesses can submit or claim a listing for review.

The need

Visitors have to sort through travel lists, scattered recommendations, and incomplete business details. Local businesses also need a way to be found, with a clear distinction between visitor guidance and paid advertising.

The approach

We organized more than 600 published listings by category and area, with plain-language search and individual business pages. Businesses can submit or claim listings for editorial review, and anyone can report a correction. Contributor and advertising policies explain how editorial content and paid placement are handled.

What the app does

  • Plain-language directory search with category and area filters
  • Visitor-first paths for things to do, food and drink, lodging, beaches and outdoors, shopping, and local services
  • Individual listing pages with descriptions, locations, contact actions, directions, categories, and verification context
  • Moderated business-submission and ownership-claim workflows with evidence and review requirements
  • Public correction reporting that does not require purchasing a listing plan
  • Contributor pitches, editorial standards, disclosure requirements, and fact-checking boundaries
  • Transparent separation of organic discovery, future paid listings, and clearly labeled sponsorships
  • Machine-readable search, listing, claim, submission, and correction entry points for compatible AI agents

Our role

We designed and built the directory, including branding, listing data, search, business accounts, editorial tools, and content for search engines and AI agents. We also manage hosting and ongoing content updates.

Outcome

Visitors can search more than 600 Grand Strand listings to find places that fit their trip. Local businesses can claim listings and submit corrections for free.
